Our Kiwanis club participates in a variety of projects throughout the year that involve fundraising, community service, and assisting children locally and worldwide. Additionally, we have speakers at our weekly meetings to explore topics of interest to the membership. We engage in a number of social activities to share experiences, talents and our collective interests. All represent great opportunities for service, friendships and personal growth.

Hastings Kiwanis Mini Grants
The Hastings Kiwanis Club funds a number of other groups and projects in the community through a grant process. To apply for a grant, download our application (.pdf) and return it to any Kiwanis member or email it to [email protected].
We’ve temporarily suspended our normal grant process as we concentrate efforts on our big, local project: Raising $200,000 to help build a new Hastings Skatepark (check it out here!). We still welcome your grant applications but please understand that until this project is completed, requests will be scrutinized against this other large, local endeavor.

Musical Playground Project
In the fall of 2019, Hastings Kiwanis launched a new fundraising initiative, with the goal of raising nearly $80,000 to install an outdoor musical playground at every elementary school in the Hastings area as part of our effort to celebrate our first 100 years! Thanks to the tremendous response from donors listed below, this project was completed in August 2020. Click here for more.
Eliminate Project
Hastings Kiwanis surpasses $73,000 goal for Eliminate Project! In 2013, we began fundraising to help eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus (MNT) from the earth, a global effort by Kiwanis known as the Eliminate Project. We surpassed our goal in June 2017 – and sent more than $75,000 to help finish the fight against MNT. That’s enough support to vaccinate and protect nearly 42,000 mothers and their future babies! The Salvation Army is holding their annual toy town on December 19th 9-5 and that's when all the parents who signed up for the Angel Tree program come and choose the gifts for their children. Saturday December 27 is our annual holiday bowling tournament. We begin registration around 9:15 with bowling to start at 10:00. The children will bowl 2 games. Volunteers are needed to help register the children and then be lane monitors while they bowl. Trophies and prizes are handed out afterward.

What We Do
Our Kiwanis club participates in a variety of projects throughout the year that involve fundraising, community service, and assisting children locally and worldwide. Additionally, we have speakers at our weekly meetings to explore topics of interest to the membership. We engage in a number of social activities to share experiences, talents and our collective interests. All represent great opportunities for service, friendships and personal growth.

Hastings Kiwanis Mini Grants
The Hastings Kiwanis Club funds a number of other groups and projects in the community through a grant process. To apply for a grant, download our application (.pdf) and return it to any Kiwanis member or email it to [email protected].
We’ve temporarily suspended our normal grant process as we concentrate efforts on our big, local project: Raising $200,000 to help build a new Hastings Skatepark (check it out here!). We still welcome your grant applications but please understand that until this project is completed, requests will be scrutinized against this other large, local endeavor.
Past Successes!
Musical Playground Project
In the fall of 2019, Hastings Kiwanis launched a new fundraising initiative, with the goal of raising nearly $80,000 to install an outdoor musical playground at every elementary school in the Hastings area as part of our effort to celebrate our first 100 years! Thanks to the tremendous response from donors listed below, this project was completed in August 2020. Click here for more.
Eliminate Project
Hastings Kiwanis surpasses $73,000 goal for Eliminate Project! In 2013, we began fundraising to help eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus (MNT) from the earth, a global effort by Kiwanis known as the Eliminate Project. We surpassed our goal in June 2017 – and sent more than $75,000 to help finish the fight against MNT. That’s enough support to vaccinate and protect nearly 42,000 mothers and their future babies!
