About Hearts & Hands Against Hunger

Sponsored by the Hastings Kiwanis Club, Hearts & Hands Against Hunger of Hastings launched in October 2008. HHAH is a community-wide project with clubs, church groups, schools, college students, businesses, youth groups and individuals volunteering to pack meals that are sent all over the world. The Hearts & Hands food packages are a rice & soy casserole fortified with 21 essential vitamins and minerals.

Hearts & Hands Against Hunger is run entirely by volunteers. We are fortunate that First Presbyterian Church lets us use space in the PEACE Center (622 N Lincoln Ave) for our packing events. Our food is delivered by Orphan Grain Train to hungry children throughout the world. Orphanages, schools, hospitals, refugee camps and disaster relief centers are recipients of our food. Ninety-eight percent of donations to HHAH of Hastings is used to buy ingredients and supplies.
